An MBA is a significant qualification, so it should be easy to spot. Here’s how to present it in your education section and elsewhere on your resume.
Basic Format
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, Ann Arbor, MI | 2025
List it first in your education section, above your bachelor’s degree.
With a Concentration
Master of Business Administration (MBA), Concentration in Finance
Indiana University, Kelley School of Business, Bloomington, IN | 2024
MBA in Progress
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Babson College, Wellesley, MA | Expected May 2027
Executive, Part-Time or Online MBAs
List the degree the same way. You don’t need to specify the format, but you can if it helps explain overlapping work dates (for example, “Executive MBA”).
Adding “MBA” After Your Name
It’s common to add it in your resume header once you’ve completed the degree: Jordan Lee, MBA. Don’t add it before you graduate.
Show What You Did With It
- Mention relevant projects, consulting work or leadership roles from the program.
- Use your summary to connect the MBA to your career goal.
For degree formatting in general, see how to list a degree on your resume.
